I was too busy to even attempt Vlogmas this year, but I thought I should film at least one Christmas themed video.

Enjoy!!

Dear Copenhagen

Dear Copenhagen,

Thank you for such an amazing trip. You were the weekend away that was very much needed not only for myself, but the three incredible people I travelled with.

It's hard to pick out just one favourite moment from our holiday. I think we were all in awe from the moment we arrived at our loving and warm Danish cottage. We fell in love with Paper Island on the first night over giant jars of mojitos and amazing food. I never ever expected to find a stall just selling vegan pizza! I don't think any of us remember much after we left Paper Island, but it was hilarious to find the videos the following night which explained what happened on the way home.

Tivoli has become my new favourite theme park with all its glittering fairy lights and Christmas trees lining the paths. I don't think I could ever go on that big rollercoaster again though, but I felt pretty brave going on something that went upside down for the first time in my life.

I loved walking about the Christmas market, visiting the Carlsberg factory, and thinking about how I can change my flat around now I'm home so it's more Danish.

Until next time,

Sarah x

Vegfest Scotland 2016

My favourite weekend in the vegan calendar has just been, so I thought I would film it for the wonderful world of YouTube.

Vegfest is my favourite vegan festival. It takes place over the SECC in Glasgow with stalls selling everything you could imagine - cakes, donuts, macarons, shoes, clothes, cosmetics, pizza, cheese and fake meats. There were also lots of activism talks, cooking demos and charity stalls.

I was there on Saturday with my mum to have a look around and then I went back on Sunday to work at the OneKind stall. We chatted to lots of people (including my favourite YouTuber) about the campaigns we're working on right now and encouraged people to sign our petition against mountain hare culls. We're handing the petition to the Scottish Parliament in the new year, so you can add your voice to it here - http://onekind.scot/campaigns/stop_the_mountain_hare_cull

Mamma Mia! Here I Go Again.

So I've officially joined the dark side and moved back into the crazy world of reviewing. I started reviewing music gigs for my local newspaper, The Falkirk Herald, when I was 16 and spent all my time at university reviewing gigs for various websites and small publications. I even did a stint reviewing Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows for ThreeWeeks during one summer break.

However, it's been a good few years since I put on my reviewing hat. It was much easier when I lived in Glasgow because there were usually a handful of great shows on every night but I struggle to find a handful of shows I want to see in Edinburgh in a month. I also couldn't really review any theatre since I was working as the Press Officer of the biggest theatre in the country.

Things are different now though because I'm in a brand new job which has nothing to do with the arts. So last night, I returned to the Edinburgh Playhouse to review MAMMA MIA! for the Southside Advertiser. I worked alongside the publication for years, so it was really nice to be asked to start writing for them.

You can read the review here.

Enjoy!!
